UQ Small Animal Veterinary SIG (SAVS)
The Small Animal Veterinary Special Interest Group (SAVS) is a newly merged student-led group that brings together small animal medicine & surgery, animal behaviour, and emergency & critical care.
Through the merger of the former SIGs, SAVS offers a practical approach to small-animal care. Hands-on workshops, industry-led talks, and networking opportunities with clinicians across general practice, referral, and emergency settings support students in developing clinical confidence, critical thinking, and real-world readiness.
The SAVS aims to expose students to a wide array of areas, including preventative care, behavioural wellbeing, acute emergencies, and advanced clinical decision-making.
